Glasgow Middle Summer Reading List

Summer, 2009

This year at Glasgow, we’re attempting to allow students greater freedom in choosing summer reading books – books that are of interest to them.  Consequently, there is no official “summer reading list.”  However, each student, including incoming sixth graders, is required to read a minimum of three Accelerated Reader books.

Each of these books must be at, or above a 3.5 Accelerated Reader book level (BL).  Within the first few weeks of school, students will be required to take an Accelerated Reader test, at school, on the three books they read during the summer.  The program is set up not to allow students to re-take tests on books that they have already tested on.

To find an Accelerated Reader book, its book level (BL), and other information about the book, please click on the link below.  You do not need a Key Code to use the site.

AR BookFinder:  www.arbookfind.com

If you know the title of a book, and want to check its book level, the fastest way is to use Quick Search.

If you are browsing for a book, click on the Collections tab, and search Awards (award-winning books) or State Lists (lists of books compiled by various states),

In addition, we would like to suggest that you read three of the Louisiana Young Reader’s Choice Awards books so that you are eligible to vote on your favorite in January, 2010.  To see the list,  click the link LYRCA

You may also select books from the EBR Parish Summer Reading List at the following link:
